Aston Martin is to formalize the release of his model Virage, a name already known in the british brand. Indeed, in 1988 it replaced the V8.
Today, Aston Martin places it between the DB9 and DBS. Very similar to current models of the range, it could be the replacement for the DB9 with clean lines to the extreme ... beautiful.
Motor side, the Virage adopts the V12 6.0L of 497cv with a couple of 570 Nm identical to the DBS. To maintain comfort while offering superior performance, the Virage acquires the damping control ADS (Adaptive Damping System). Carbon / ceramic brakes will be availiable.
Obviously the Virage will be offered in coupe or convertible. No price announced yet.

Mercedes is a partner of Fashion Week in New York and held to celebrate this great meeting of fashion by launching a funny initiative. The aim? Arrest people very well dressed with the new CLS 63 AMG !

The CLS AMG is decorated like a police car, but it is not really a patrol banal: the Fashion Force, a brigade launched by Mercedes with a purpose: drive through the streets of New York and will select pedestrians who will be the best dressed in town. They will be arrested by the new CLS 63 AMG patrol and will be offered privileged access to the Fashion Week as a reward for their perfect style.

True teasing or false scoop?
A video "stolen" of the future Alfa Romeo 4C Spyder and Berlinetta circulates on the web. So it must be officially unveiled at the next Geneva Motor Show, the small coupe Alfa shows furtively on this video, which, according to statements, would come from an employee of Alfa Romeo.
Nevertheless, we see the lines of the coupe and Spyder developing 250 hp and 850 kg with mid-mounted engine.
Notice also the small triangular grille that recall the ancient mythical models of the brand.

At noon, Ferrari has just lifted the veil on the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti. Tesla, California manufacturer of electric cars (for those who do not know) has unveiled a new video of his model S. The next green sedan of Tesla wears new stylistic features, essentially the bumper, air intakes and lower body, making the car more dynamic and homogeneous than the prototype.

This is the new record entered to the Guinness Book of Records by the Sunday Times journalist driving a Volkswagen Passat TDI BlueMotion.

Thus, we learn that the driver of the Passat 1.6 TDi L 105 only consumed 3.14 L/100 km (75 mpg) to average speed of 45mph on a realistic distance that has led the journalist from the Kent to the south of France and back to Great Britain. To recap, the fuel tank of the Passat BlueMotion TDI contains 77.25 L of diesel.

According to this photo, it would seem the next car of Lamborghini will be equiped by a 10 cylinders engine, by the number of holes present on the carbon hood... let the beast breath ! Probably the engine from the Audi RS6's twin-turbo.

The chairman of Lamborghini, Stefan Winkelmann, declares in next years, the brand won't more focus to the top speed but to improve the acceleration and handling.

We are redefining the future of our supersportscars around the two main reasons to buy: design and performance. Design has been and always will be reason number one, and we will make sure a Lamborghini will always be recognizable through its significant stylistic features.
Regarding performance, until few years ago priorities were, in this order: top speed, acceleration and handling. In recent years this has been changing. Together with design, handling and acceleration are becoming more important. Speed is not as important anymore, because all supersportscars are exceeding 300km/h (186 mph) and this is a speed that you cannot reach even on a racetrack, let alone normal roads. We think it is time to make a shift and talk more about handling and acceleration.
The key factor in terms of better handling and acceleration, meaning more immediate pleasure in driving, is the power-to-weight ratio. This is not so much about top speed and so the future will not be so focused on increasing the power, even because CO2 emissions do play a role for supersportscars too. That means the key is in reducing the weight.
A crucial part of this is to understand how to reduce the weight. From the middle of the Eighties, the average weight of our cars has increased by 500 kg because of active and passive safety, comfort and emissions reduction issues, and this is something that we have to change. Since we cannot reduce safety or comfort in our cars, we have to reduce the weight by using new materials.

More power, more dynamism, less cylinders ! BMW concludes the development of its stratospheric luxury sedan, the M5 and it is on the Nürburgring track where we can see its extrem capacities.

Just one year after marketing its first sedan in history, Porsche unveils the sales figures of the Panamera ... and they have to be proud in the Zuffenhausen firm. Indeed, Porsche sold 22,518 Panamera in one year, an average of 1,900 vehicles per month!

Porsche has clearly been able to respond to customers by offering a V6 and two V8 pending hybrid and diesel versions.

In its statement, Porsche describes the results and obviously the United States where there is the most of Panamera' sales with 890 in LA or 760 copies in New York. There is also Dubai (285) and Moscow (203). Also note that the local market, Germany is about 11% of sales with 2530 cars sold.

Nissan and Dongfeng launch a new automotive brand.

It is an enough important event to be reported, a new automobile brand is being created by the Nissan-Dongfeng partners.
There is seven years that this joint venture exists and manufactures cars, and now will exist under the name of Qi Chen or Venucia for the Western market.
The Qichen or Venecia will be equipped with engines and components Nissan.

Qichen, who initially will produce a cheap mid-range model, should enable the joint venture between Dongfeng and Nissan achieve its goal of selling one million vehicles per year in the Chinese market.

Bentley didn't resist to leave pictures lying around the net to show the facelift of the new Continental GT. Officialy revealed to the next Paris Autoshow, we can enjoy to the new style before time. The future stylistic line is clear, Bentley aims the aesthetic of the Mulsanne.

Asymetric headlights, sportier and sharper body lines, and more statuesque fenders are the principal caracteristics of this new facelift...elegance of lines are kept , Gorgeous.

On the engine side, Bentley will install a new block developped in partnership with Audi (of course) , a V8 4.0 liter with a power between 350hp and 400 horsepower. This engine will be availiable about 2012.

Currently, the W12 takes place under the hood, but it has been upgraded. Its power is lifted from 560hp to 575 horsepower and keeps its present' six-speed transmission.

Over the disclosures of spyshots, the future SLK is revealed more and more. The latest shot is taken by a Dubai-based. But the unveiling is not spectacular, but we can extrapolate it has a style between class C and the SLS. Mercedes clears Formula 1 nose and goes back to a large radiator grill, "old style", and SL inspiration for the rear.

After weeks of teaser, Ford finally revealed fully its Explorer. Eagerly anticipated 4x4 fans, the new Ford Explorer reveals itself aesthetically successful, and features lines near future Land Rover and is in the air time ... both cities and fields 4x4.

On board, too, the Explorer marks a real leap forward in design and layout. Ford also intends to position its new Explorer as an alternative to the BMW X5 or Audi Q7, and promises a flawless finish, which was far from being the case with previous models. The first rumor concerns the launching of a "small" Lamborghini V8 engine 4.2l and 450hp that would take the estate of the sublime and fluid Urraco 70s. It is not known if this Lamborghini will be 2 or 4 seats but the project is under development. A project that seems logical enough.

Officialy shown at the Moscow Motor Show before the road version, Audi broadcasts a new website dedicated to its sedan/coupe flagship, the A7.

Thanks to it, Audi should block its direct rivals, among others, the CLS of Mercedes and the Gran Coupé of BMW and even, Porsche with its Panamera.

The small Netherlands automaker just paid the final financial commitment to pay off the full amount to General Motors for the purchase of Saab. The car manufacturer describes as having paid the second and final part of the purchase price of Saab Automobile AB to its U.S. counterpart.

Remember that the deadline for the payment of $ 24 million was on July 15 next, but that Spyker has decided to pay the bill almost two weeks earlier.

Spyker said that payment was funded from internal sources of the group and no increase in external debt or issue shares that would cause dilution of existing shareholders. It's been 12 years that Toyota has marketed its first hybrid called Prius. In the world and for this same period, 2.5 million Toyota were produced with hybrid engines.

More than hundred-years old, this awesome rally-raid will take place in September 10th, 2010. As indicated by its name, the start of this rally will begin to Peking. 107 Challengers of 23 nationalities will cover more than 14,500 km through twelve countries. As if it was not enough difficult, the trip does with classic cars like the previous years.
Historically, the first rally registred 5 participants, the Prince Borghèse won this race with an Itala 7L Grand Prix. For remember, first participants had not either, of course GPS nor maps ! There was few roads and they only fitted out a compass, the sun and their brains !
The other of two cars which went back to finish line was the Spyker of Mister Du Taillis.
Today, the route of this "expedition" changed little compared with the first rally road. New Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell

From the presentation of the SLS AMG last fall , Mercedes announced its intention to produce an electric version, called e-SLS a time and has become SLS E-Cell.

The SLS AMG E-Cell features a bright yellow livery, named "AMG Lumilectric magno" and merely aesthetic changes limited. The equilibrium also prevails for the disposal of batteries, located both in front of the deck, in the central tunnel and behind the cockpit to optimize the weight between the front and the rear. As for performance, Mercedes claims 4s to go from 0 to 60 Mph.

Previously evoked few weeks ago, problems of the Murcielago were realized in New York, Brooklyn borough. The recall campaign concerned a default about the fuel tank which can involve a fire. Today, it's done ! Although the facts are not precisely known, it is strongly likely that it was an immediate consequence of this fuel tank problem.

This mythic race and show will start in July 02, during three days. The best racers and gentleman drivers are in confrontation on the runway tirelessly with the best of the best cars irrespective of generation.

Day by day, the automakers announce their participation to this race, and today, it is the time of Mini whose will show its Countryman and the Mini E (electrical); this last will participate to the hill climb race.

Previously, BMW had announced the presence of the M3 GT2 feat by Jeff Koons, which ran the 24 hours of Le Mans, the 328 Touring winning the 1940 Mille Miglia race, the new 5 GT Series and to finish a Z4 35is S-Drive. In marge of the brand, Alpina will bring their B5 Biturbo.
Mc Laren confirmed too the officially showing of the MP4-12C, and will run the hill climb race.
To finish with a british manufacturer, Jaguar will challenge with a XKR special series called XKR Goodwood Special and produces in limited edition. This XKR should have more powerful, the V8 5,0L engine would develop 530hp and 699Nm.

Of course, it is a no exhaustive list of car manufacturers and models present during this three days event, many prestigious cars will be there for this mythic race and static show.

The new is almost historical. For the first time in 54 years an American car manufacturer is making its IPO (June 29 is mentioned). And for the first time, it is a 100% electric models manufacturer, so Tesla Motors. Among the latest figures available as to the accounts of Tesla, recall that according to documents submitted to U.S. securities regulators, the manufacturer would have generated a turnover of 108.2 million dollars since its inception in 2003 and posted a budget deficit amounting to over 236 million in September 30.

According to preliminary figures available, it evokes some 11.1 million shares offered at a price of about $ 16, representing a total of $ 177.6 million.

If investors interest follows, additional shares may be put on the market for a total of 204 million dollars. The automaker specified the shares which would be introduced on the Nasdaq, corresponded to approximately 12.1% of the firm asset (about $ 1.5 billion then).

Primarily the funds raised should be used to finance investments, and in primarily the acquisition of the NUMMI plant in California (former GM / Toyota). Alongside, this operation should also allow to Toyota to make its entry into the capital of the "small" Californian manufacturer.
For Tesla, the announcement falls well, the group having funds from the loan of 465 million dollars granted by the U.S. government, will have enough to reassure financial markets until the future sedan S.

It has been 40 years since the Range Rover ran roads around the world. The new generation will be launched in mid-September with a new engine which promises less fuel and CO2 consumption, but more powerful and more couple. The 4.4-litre V8 diesel replaces the current 3.6, and there’s a new eight-speed ZF paddle-shift auto.

The combination - plus a series of subtle electronic tweaks like a smart-charge alternator - boosts power by 15 per cent. The model now delivers 30.1mpg on the combined cycle, the first time a Range Rover has ever beaten 30mpg.
The four-cam, 32-valve diesel gets a new cast-iron block and adopts parallel sequential turbocharging like the Discovery’s 3.0-litre V6. Power is 309bhp at 3750rpm (a slightly lower specific output than before, to help control NOx) and 9.4 per cent more torque (now 516lb ft at 2000rpm).
The 0-60mph time is trimmed by 1.1sec to 7.5sec, and passing acceleration is even better.

The transmission is now controlled by a Jag-style selector and the Terrain Response system gains hill hold and ‘gradient acceleration control’, which stops the car from running away on slopes, even if you haven’t engaged Hill Descent Control.

Mini has launched a challenge to Porsche on lands of Uncle Sam. In a video we discover James L. McDowell, vice president of Mini USA, inviting Detlev von Platen, Porsche counterpart, to a face-to-face on the Road Atlanta track. In a dispute between Ford and the IRS (U.S. treasury services), justice delivered its verdict in favour of administration. The automotive manufacturer has lost in this conflict no less than $ 445 million.

After several months of teasing, GTA Motor unveils finally officially its Spano. This Spanish automaker is in motorsport for 15 years, and has decided to develop Spano 5 years ago, and to GTA Motor, they have not done things by halves! Indeed, they have fitted their supercar up with a V10 8.3l developing 780hp. The engine, derived from the furious Dodge Viper, is able to take away the Spano to 60mph in 2.9 sec.

Produced at 99 models, it will still have to sign a check for € 600,000 to access the exclusive Spanish! As for aesthetics, we can not say that Spano is very gracious adopting lines rather heavy and not very harmonious, especially at this price. Finally, it's my opinion.

Until then concept car, Audi has officially confirmed that the little coupe R4 would see the daylight soon. Also called as "Baby-R8, the Audi A4 has similar traits to his big sister, but only on the side of the look. Chrysler : recall campaigns are growing !

February 2010, Chrysler is recalling 312,442 vehicles for airbag problem which can trigger itself for no reason. The recall involved the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan produced between 2005 and 2006.

Today Chrysler announced a new wave of recall about 284,831 vehicles (the same models that in February) for an electrical problem of the sliding door that could cause a fire.

And as if that were not enough, Chrysler is coming to formalize the recall of 290,000 Jeep Wrangler that could present risks of leakage of brake fluid, causing a partial loss of braking capacity according to the NHTSA. The cars affected were sold between 2006 and 2010 in the United States.

This series represents a total recall of nearly 600,000 vehicles in less than six months ! Hopefully that the black series of Chrysler ends here !

BMW 1 Series GT for 2011 ...

The Bavarian automaker should come out in a few months to a year a new variant to its 1 Series, the GT. This is not a sport designation as one might think, but rather a version offering more capacity to the 1 Series, as the 5-Series GT for the 5 Series sedan. 5cm longer, it will provide more volume to its occupants, in order to compete with the Mercedes B-Class and Audi A3 Sportback.

We find under the bonnet the engines already flowing the 1 Series range, and a new 3-cylinder gasoline 1.2l 75hp to 184hp will complete the list, without forgetting the 2.0l Turbo 245hp. An 8-speed automatic transmission will be also available.

Like its sister 5GT, this new variant of a 1 Series will be in the premium segment.

Mercedes has put the finishing touches on its new CL or S-Class coupe. Minor stylistic improvements are noticeable. Thus, there is a reworked grille, side skirts and bumper sharpened, LED headlights redesigned. We note also new door mirrors, inspired other models in the range and LED rear lights.
It is just expected technical improvements on existing engines to reduce consumption, the hybrid engine should always be present. The recent turbo 4.7L V8 will also be taking part.

You said crisis ... ! Around the world, sales of new vehicles increases, and record double-digit growth. Indeed, following the publication of balance sheets, the global car market grew by 13.3% in April and this trend continues, because the increase was over 23% since the beginning of the year (23.1 million vehicles sold), and the month of May looks also promising.

The biggest increases this month compared to April 2009, are the Chinese market (+25%), Japanese (+25%), North American (+20%), Russia (+19.8%) and Brazil (+17% ).

Amongst the "Big Three", Ford shows 25% increase, including 26% for Ford, Lincoln 22% and 19% for Mercury. Chrysler also increases by 25% (again compared to April 2009) with 61% each for Chrysler and Dodge and 22% for Ram. Finally, GM recorded an increase of only 6.4% due to the disappearance of Saturn and Pontiac brands, however, its brands are doing very well, with Buick +36.4%, Cadillac+35.7%, 17.4% for Chevrolet and +19.7% for GMC.

BMW would have to project to reduce its Mini, and back to sizes of first-generation of Mini. The little Mini would share the same platform of the future BMW Megacity and the same engines, a 3-cylinder, developed in partnership with PSA up to minimize production costs. The new Mini, perhaps called Minor, would not exceed 3.05m, the equivalent of a Toyota IQ and would be either 2 or 4 doors, nothing is yet decided. The output of this car is not expected until a year and a half. Of course, the Mini remains in the current range.

Fisker Karma, the time goes on !

Fisker has announced that he could not come out his Karma to the end of 2010. Since the announcement of its release in 2008, Karma was expected late 2009 then late 2010, and now Fisker announces that it will be necessary to stand February 2011 (at best) for the beginning of the production... just hope that this time is good!

The U.S. carmaker Ford could soon abandon one of its remaining three brands, Mercury, according to a person familiar with the matter : "Our plans have not changed for Mercury," said a Ford spokesman, Mark Truby. But "we are constantly evaluating our business, and if things change in the future, we will notify".

Since the beginning of the month, Ssangyong is under the control of the Korean court, and a bid has been launched until May 31, 2010.
